Christmas in August? Yes you’re reading correctly! Baroness Kimberly Moore who has also been referred to as Ms. Santa Claus in the past in regards to her well recognized Adopt a Letter campaign has aligned with the World Hand Foundation to let Santa know about some children in desperate need of his help. In the U.S., children under the age of five make up the largest group (outside the workplace) to lose fingers. The World Hand Foundation is able to purchase and fit fully functional prosthetic fingers at a price lower than any other foundation in the world, thereby enabling most children to be helped .This makes for a great partnership as Dan Didrick too has offered prosthetic rehabilitation for amputees from around the world. This year they decided to team up by fulfilling the wishes to Santa written by underprivileged children missing limbs and offering prosthetic devices to those who lack insurance or financial resources.
The Adopt-A-Letter was inspired in 2007 by Baroness Kimberly Moore, founder of "The Echelon Club" just 10 days before Christmas when a simple idea arose to answer Santa letters at the US Post Office written from thousands of children living in the community. The Echelon Club in alliance with the Kimberly Moore Foundation's "Adopt A Letter" program, founded by Baroness Kimberly Moore has adopted over 20,000 wishes "to Santa" from children living in some of the most impoverished areas of Los Angeles Kimberly will continue to answer the wishes of children this year; including those asking for prosthetic limbs. Letters addressed to Santa make their way to Kimberly and her organization; which answers as many of these requests as time will allow.
The World Hand Foundation was co-founded by Dan Didrick and Scott Zajaczkowski of Didrick Medical in Naples, Florida which provides the latest prosthetic technologies to those in need. The World Hand Foundation was launched after Dan won first place in a pitch competition judged by Sir Richard Branson attended by Baroness Kimberly Moore, who inspired them to start WHF and get involved in her latest Africa project which also helps victims of landmines on her new TV series; "This Time for Africa".
Kimberly who was appointed in 2009 as the United States Goodwill Ambassador to Guinea Bissau, West Africa has made it her mission to leverage the power of business & influential's for the benefit of high impact charities in support of Global Betterment. Kimberly has used her network and "star power" to bring greater awareness to the disadvantaged people of the world along with the charities who serve them. In addition to building a network of change-makers who are a powerful force for good, Kimberly has encouraged large corporations and local businesses to integrate "Corporate Social Responsibility" into their new business model in order to create an overall impact on society. In a world where entire countries are suffering for want of basic needs the Interfacing of these two organizations will create legacies of change by bringing those who want to change the world face-to-face with those who are already doing it!
Together, Adopt A Letter and the World Hand Foundation are going to help as many children as possible by offering free prosthetic care this holiday season although these two organizations plan on doing a lot of the work, they cannot do it without your help. To lend a hand to their campaign please consider contacting the World Hand Foundation to make a tax deductible donation and share in this opportunity to help at www.adoptaletter.org or www.worldhandfoundation.org.
